Evin clinic has announced that they are unable to provide the necessary treatment to Ms. Mosanna. But according to reports from Evin, prison authorities have so far refrained from sending her to a civic hospital.
Fatemeh Mosanna lost her consciousness on August 19, in the women’s ward of Evin. She had fever and chills. She was suspected of having contracted the coronavirus.
Ms. Mosanna was transferred out to Tehran’s Taleghani Hospital where her hands and feet were cuffed to the bed throughout her stay. She was deprived of visiting her relatives while in hospital.
On August 26, security forces returned Fatemeh Mosanna to a quarantine cell in the women’s ward of Evin. She was still suffering from severe stomach ache, diarrhea and nausea. She could not take in any food and her treatment was incomplete.
Amin Vaziri, the Special Assistant Prosecutor for political prisoners in Evin, ordered the return.
Political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna has not received any proper medical care since her return to Evin. The prison’s doctor only visited her two or three times to inject serum.
On September 7, 2020, security forces took her once again to Taleghani Hospital following deterioration of her conditions. The next day, she underwent endoscopy and colonoscopy and subsequently returned to Evin Prison.
Ms. Mosanna had been granted leave on bail on March 31, 2020 because of her health conditions. However, agents of the Prosecutor’s Office went to her home without prior notice on May 6, 2020, handcuffed and violently took her back to Evin Prison in front of her children.
Detained for commemorating father-in-law
Fatemeh Mosanna and her husband, Hassan Sadeqi, were arrested on April 9, 2014, for holding a funeral ceremony for his father, deceased on January 29, 2014, in Camp Liberty, Iraq, where PMOI members were held under siege.
The couple were later sentenced to 15 years in prison for having contacts with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran. Their house and shop were confiscated by the Iranian regime in March 2019. The couple have been deprived of visits for a long time. Fatemeh Mosanna was a political prisoner in 1981 and detained for two years when she was only 13 years old. Three of her brothers were executed that year by the clerical regime.
