Fatemeh Mosanna is in dire physical conditions, suffers from GI problems, and is suspected of being infected with the coronavirus
Female political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna has been returned to the quarantine ward of Evin Prison without her treatment being completed. Her doctor had opposed her return because her test results were not ready yet and her treatment was incomplete.
Fatemeh Mosanna was transferred back to Evin Prison on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, on the orders of Amin Vaziri, the Prosecutor’s special assistant for political prisoners’ affairs.
Ms. Mosanna is presently being detained in the quarantine cell despite her critical health condition. She is suffering from GI problems including diarrhea and vomiting, and she cannot eat anything.
A source close to the family of female political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna said: On Wednesday, August 26, when Ms. Mosanna’s son went to hospital to hand in some items and accessories she could use while in hospital, he found out that his mother had been returned to prison despite her doctor’s opposition.
To inquire about his mother, Iman Sadeghi referred to the Prosecutor’s Office where Amin Vaziri told him that his mother must recover in the quarantine regardless of what her illness was. When Mr. Sadeghi objected, Vaziri ordered his agents to take him out.
Female political prisoner Fatemeh Mosanna lost her consciousness last Wednesday, August 19, in the women’s ward of Evin. She was transferred out to Tehran’s Taleghani Hospital where her limbs were cuffed to the bed throughout her stay. She was deprived of visiting her relatives while in hospital.
Before being hospitalized, she had fever and chills and was suspected of having contracted the coronavirus.
Ms. Mosanna had been granted leave on bail on March 31, 2020 because of her health conditions. However, agents of the Prosecutor’s Office went to her home without prior notice on May 6, 2020, handcuffed and violently took her back to Evin Prison in front of her children.
