Shiva Bordbar Javid was one of the young protesters who participated in the nationwide uprising in January 2026. She was martyred on the night of January 8, 2026, in Mashhad.
Shiva, born on August 5, 2007, was a native of Mashhad. The 18-year-old was a foreign language student. On the night of January 8, she attended the protests in Mashhad alongside her father, Ali. When regime security forces opened fire, Shiva’s father was severely wounded and lost his life. Amid the gunfire, Shiva became separated from the scene and subsequently disappeared, leaving her family without any news of her fate for days.
Shiva’s family initially believed she had been arrested. However, they eventually found her lifeless body among the victims of the protests at Behesht-e Reza Cemetery in Mashhad.
When her family retrieved the body of their young daughter after 10 days, they were confronted with horrific, bandaged injuries on her face—clear evidence of inhuman torture by the clerical regime’s agents prior to her martyrdom.
Shiva Bordbar Javid was laid to rest alongside her father, Ali (a building contractor), in Behesht-e Reza Cemetery in Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan Province.
