Vida Mohammadi, a Tehran resident, has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison by the Iranian regime’s judiciary.
According to the verdict issued by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Vida Mohammadi was sentenced to four years for “assembly and collusion to commit a crime against national security” and an additional eight months for “propaganda against the state.”
The court has also ordered the confiscation of her mobile phone. However, only one-fortieth of her sentence will be enforced, while the remainder has been suspended for five years.
Vida Mohammadi was previously summoned on January 25, 2025, by Branch 1 of the Security Prosecutor’s Office in Tehran and subsequently referred to Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, for trial.
Her legal troubles began in November 2024, when she was charged with “assembly and collusion against internal security” and “propaganda against the state” due to her social media activism. Following the initial charges, she was temporarily released on bail of 2 billion rials.
Despite the court’s ruling, Mohammadi’s identification documents, including her birth certificate and national ID card—previously confiscated by the prosecutor’s office—have yet to be returned to her.
