Nasimeh Eslamzehi, a Baluchi woman and mother of two, has been detained for nearly 11 months in Evin Prison without her fate being determined.
No court sessions have been held to address the accusations against her, which allege involvement with ISIS. During this time, she has not had a single meeting with her husband.
Nasimeh Eslamzehi gave birth to her second child in prison. Her first child, who was with them at the time of arrest, has been placed in welfare custody. Efforts by Nasimeh Eslamzehi’s family to regain custody of this child have not been successful.
Nasimeh Eslamzehi and her husband were arrested in Sistan and Baluchestan in September 2023. It has been claimed that they were armed at the time of arrest.
Following their arrest, they were charged with membership in ISIS and transferred to Evin Prison after their indictment at the Sistan and Baluchestan courthouse.
Nasimeh spent approximately three months in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin Prison and another three months in shared cells.
The prolonged uncertainty, lack of court hearings, and prevention of visits with her husband are considered violations of her human rights and fair trial procedures.
