Dina Malek, a 20-year-old woman, was fatally shot by Iranian security forces during the nationwide protests in January 2026.
In Early January, she was shot during the protests in the city of Mashhad. Wounded in the leg, she managed to reach a hospital on her own and informed her family of her whereabouts.
When her family arrived at the hospital, regime agents told them she was not there.
After they eventually located her body, they found that she had been shot in the head. According to the account, after she was wounded, members of the Revolutionary Guard Corps opened fire on her again, killing her with a gunshot to the head. Social media reports record January 9, 2027, as the date of her death.
Regime authorities demanded 700 million tomans, (approximately 5,000 to 6,000 U.S. dollars), from Dina Malek’s family before releasing the body of the 20-year-old woman.
