The 97th consecutive week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign was marked across 55 prisons nationwide, unfolding amid a new wave of executions that has turned this period into one of the bloodiest weeks of 2025 in Iran.
Reports indicate that nearly one hundred inmates have been executed over the past ten days, a figure that has sparked widespread alarm over the escalating judicial and security crackdown.
In this week’s statement, organizers of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign warned of the dire consequences of this trajectory, urging the political community, students, and all “awakened consciences” to stand with death-row prisoners and bereaved families, and to amplify their voices to the international community. The statement emphasizes that open confrontation with the state’s execution apparatus could challenge one of the regime’s core tools of repression and help pave the way for advancing the demand for popular sovereignty.

No Executions for Anyone – Families Demand
Once again, the families of political prisoners on death row, along with relatives of those killed in recent years, took to the streets, holding photos of their loved ones and chanting:
- “No executions for anyone”
- “Stop the executions”
- “Support No to Execution Tuesdays”
These families say their presence is not only about seeking justice for the past, but also about preventing further deaths.

A Campaign That Has Become a Pillar of Resistance
The consistent and weekly continuation of this campaign, despite a climate of repression and tight security control, has turned it into one of the most significant expressions of resistance in Iran today. Participants describe “being in the streets on Tuesdays” as a symbol of standing up to a government that, in their words, sustains itself through “fear and death.”
The “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign has now evolved into a central voice opposing the regime’s relentless execution machinery, resonating not only within prisons but increasingly across society. With growing social solidarity, its reach is expected to expand further.
