On August 1, 1982, a pivotal event unfolded in Tehran—the heroic resistance of PMOI members against an armed assault by the Revolutionary Guards and Committee forces. This battle showcased the unwavering courage of women who stood at the forefront.
As dawn broke that day, the Revolutionary Guards encircled the PMOI bases in Tehran. Soon after receiving their final orders, the enemy launched an attack using semi-heavy weapons, accompanied by the deafening sound of explosions.
In the face of this onslaught, brave women took their positions, defying the armed enemy. Their remarkable resistance came at a cost—many lost their lives due to the relentless gunfire and explosions. Among these courageous individuals were:

Among these valiant fighters, one stands out—a sixty-year-old mother named Sedigheh Karbasi (Ehtesam al-Sadat Zaerian). She stood shoulder-to-shoulder with her fellow men and women, resisting until the end. Even after 38 years, this indomitable spirit remains etched in memory.
