The state-run ‘Roze Nour’ website wrote a piece on two other jobs and social activities banned for women under the mullahs’ rule:
“Any income for a cosmetologist is forbidden if:
– the cosmetologist uses methods to cover up a woman’s defects and outlines her beauties to prepare her for wedding a man, the income is forbidden.
– a cosmetologist prepares the make-up of a woman in such a manner to groom and present the women more, this in itself is forbidden and income for this is also forbidden.”
This media outlet added:
“Some scholars, such as Mohadess Kashani and Mullah Khorasani, do not consider singing to bring happiness to an audience as completely forbidden. In fact, they consider it forbidden when there is a mix between men and women in a party or leads to joy and happiness.
According to the scholars, as such singing is forbidden, the income for a female singer is forbidden under any circumstances.” (State-run Roze Nour website – April 24, 2015)
