Students Denounce Body Searches and Humiliating Treatment
On the morning of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a girls’ vocational school in Deylaman District in Shahr-e Rey (Tehran Province) witnessed an unusually tense incident and student protests.
According to students and parents, the tension began with a humiliating body search and the principal’s aggressive behavior, eventually leading to the arrival of emergency medical teams and the transfer of several students to healthcare centers.
Witnesses report that as students entered the school, the principal lined them up in the courtyard and announced that she intended to inspect their mobile phones and personal belongings. One of the students said, “They told us to hand over our phones and carried out a body search. When we protested and asked why they were searching us in that manner, the principal responded with shouting and threats.”
Physical Confrontation and Damage to Educational Equipment
After the students objected, the principal reportedly reacted with shouting, shoving, and aggressive behavior, even emptying students’ bags onto the ground without regard for their belongings.
Several students lodged complaints about the incident, but according to their accounts, the principal went on to throw their belongings against the wall and demanded that they immediately unlock their mobile phones so she could “check the contents.”
According to reports circulating on social media, as the verbal confrontation escalated, several students experienced severe stress and panic attacks, collapsing to the ground. Some students called emergency services, and multiple ambulances arrived at the school to attend to those in distress. Several students were injured and transferred to hospital for examinations and treatment.
Student sources said, “The school gates were locked, and parents were prevented from entering, even though some of the girls were in very poor condition.”
Confiscated Phones and a Demand for Payment
According to students and their parents, several of the confiscated mobile phones remain in the principal’s possession, and she has allegedly demanded 800,000 tomans for their return.
On Wednesday morning, November 19, a group of parents gathered in front of the school, calling for accountability from the administration. Families report that the principal has been absent and has refused to provide any explanation regarding her conduct or the fate of the confiscated belongings.
Ms. Soheila Sadegh, Chair of the Education Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, strongly condemned the harassment of girl students at the school in Deylaman, Shahr-e Rey. She added that, in her view, oppressive behavior toward Iranian women and girls will only end when the clerical regime is brought to an end.
