On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the nationwide campaign “No to Execution Tuesdays” marked its 92nd consecutive week, with families of prisoners and citizens joining protests in dozens of cities across Iran.
This week, two additional prisons—Borujerd and Ilam—joined the campaign, bringing the total number of participating prisons to 54. The weekly statement from the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign reported:
“Since last Tuesday, 59 executions, including those of two women, have been recorded. This surge in executions has been accompanied by new and confirmed death sentences against political prisoners, including Kavous Abdollahzadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner, and Zahra Tabari in Lakan Prison in Rasht. The Supreme Court has also reaffirmed the death sentences of Manouchehr Fallah and Ehsan Faridi.”
The statement described the escalating executions as “a deliberate attempt to instill fear and silence the Iranian people’s cry for freedom.”
It added that the regime, “a corrupt and repressive system that has ruled for over 46 years through theft, violence, and destruction,” continues to rely on executions as a tool of survival.
Despite the regime’s machinery of fear and death, the statement emphasized that “people are standing firm.” The prisons of Borujerd and Ilam have now joined others in keeping “the flame of protest alive in the heart of darkness,” amplifying the voices of resistance from behind prison walls.
Meanwhile, families of death row prisoners, chanting “No to execution!” and declaring that “no power can extinguish the flame of freedom and the right to life in this land.”
Across Iran, in Fardis, Shahr-e Rey, Shiraz, Tabriz, Lahijan, Tehran, Hamedan, Neyshabur, Miyaneh, Quchan, Fuman, Shahr-e Qods, Zanjan, Chalous, Esfarayen, Urmia, Gorgan, Andimeshk, Isfahan, Sonqor, and other cities—citizens held protest gatherings despite heavy security threats and pressure.

Families of political prisoners facing execution carried photos of their loved ones and banners reading “No to Execution,” “Stop Executions,” and “Support No to Execution Tuesdays.”
