In its 85th consecutive week, the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign expanded further, with Sabzevar Prison joining the movement. This week, prisoners in 52 prisons across Iran staged a hunger strike to protest the regime’s systematic and widespread use of the death penalty.
In their weekly statement, the prisoners condemned the recent execution of political prisoner Mehran Bahramian in Semirom, highlighting the wave of public outrage that followed:
“The inhumane execution of Mehran Bahramian did not only deprive one man of his right to life but also ignited flames of anger and protest in the hearts of Semirom’s people. The dignified strike of shopkeepers and the courageous resistance of the city’s justice-seeking citizens prove that our people will not remain silent in the face of such crimes and will continue their struggle until justice is achieved. We call on all freedom-loving people to follow the example of the grieving families and the people of Semirom by raising the flag of ‘No to Executions’ in every city and street.”

The Role of Families in Sustaining the Campaign
Mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers of political prisoners facing the death penalty have brought a deeply human and emotional dimension to the campaign by displaying their loved ones’ photos and participating in public gatherings.
Particularly, the mothers of political prisoners have emerged as symbols of resilience. Despite repeated threats and summons by security forces, they continue to stand alongside the people, insisting that no intimidation will silence their demand for justice.
The 85th week of the “No to Execution Tuesdays” campaign has become a powerful symbol of resistance by prisoners and their families against Iran’s execution-driven policy of repression, while simultaneously drawing increasing support from society and the international community.
