Women Leading Iran’s Fight for Freedom: Resistance Units Support Maryam Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan
This time of year, coincides with many significant events in Iranian history, most notably the beginning of the Iranian Resistance against the Khomeini regime on June 20, 1981.
In this episode, we will examine women’s crucial role in the 43-year struggle for freedom in Iran, from their involvement in the Iranian opposition to their current efforts within the Resistance Units inside Iran. We’ll especially focus on their acts of support for the NCRI from across the country.

The Resistance Units in Iran have carried out around 20,000 acts in support of Maryam Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan, in anticipation of the Iranian Resistance’s annual gathering on June 29th.
This is a significant achievement. The Resistance Units have doubled their actions compared to this time last year, despite the ongoing repression throughout the country. The regime has intensified its surveillance, installing closed-circuit cameras everywhere. Anyone caught supporting the Iranian Resistance and its pivotal force, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), faces severe punishments, including torture, long prison sentences, and even the death penalty.
However, not only have these activities not subsided under the mullahs’ repression, but they have also increased and spread across the country. This indicates a surge in the number of young people joining the Resistance Units. Many of these Resistance Units are either composed entirely of women or have female members. It’s truly remarkable that Iranian women are organizing within these units to challenge and ultimately overthrow Khamenei and his regime.

What does the growth of the number of PMOI Resistance Units despite massive repression signify?
The members of the PMOI Resistance Units are selfless individuals who have put their lives on the line to free their people. This is an incredibly risky endeavor that could cost them their lives. The Iranian Resistance has paid a high price since the start of this movement, adhering to its principles, and remaining independent. This dedication is why people trust them and are willing to give everything they have, to support the struggle led by this movement.
In response to your question, this growth signifies the potential and readiness of Iranian society. It shows that despite the regime’s campaign to demonize this resistance, particularly against the PMOI, and despite all the agencies created to arrest, imprison, and kill members of the Resistance, the increasing number of youths, especially women and girls, joining the Resistance indicates they clearly recognize their friends and enemies. No amount of repression or demonization can prevent them from joining their vanguards on the frontlines of the movement.
This is the result of more than 43 years of sincere struggle for the interests of the Iranian people, specifically for freedom and democracy.

The PMOI Resistance Units, many of which are composed of women, have carried out at least 20,000 acts of support for the Free Iran 2024 annual gathering.
These Resistance Units have hung hundreds of huge banners from bridges overlooking major highways in Tehran and other key cities like Shiraz, Isfahan, and Mashhad, as well as dozens of smaller cities. These banners display images of Maryam Rajavi and her calls to the Iranian people to rise up and overthrow the regime.
They also post banners in public places bearing messages from the Iranian Resistance, calling for a boycott of the elections and advocating for the regime’s overthrow. Additionally, some members post or hold placards with excerpts from Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan, which promises a free, democratic, non-nuclear republic in Iran that upholds the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international covenants. They display these placards in broad daylight in the middle of the streets.
Another powerful act by the Resistance Units, reflecting the message of Iranian women and girls on the frontlines, is the motto “Women_Resistance_Freedom.” This motto represents the 43-year struggle of Iranian women in prisons and torture chambers, on battlefields, and in the streets and alleys of all Iranian cities. Iranian women have paid the highest price with their resistance, paving the way toward freedom. The world witnessed this during the recent uprisings.
By holding or posting these placards, they convey to the public that Iranian women will achieve their rights and freedoms only through resistance and the complete overthrow of the regime.
