“Setting quotas for women’s participation in the future parliament contradicts freedom of thought in the Islamic Republic of Iran where elections are free(!),” said Minoo Aslani, head of Women’s Social Mobilization Organization.
Aslani is an example of the misogynous women in the mullahs’ regime who advocate against the rights of women. The regime’s officials have acknowledged on several occasions that female members of the mullahs’ parliament are usually the ones who propose bills that impose further restrictions on the rights of women.
To justify her remarks against women, she added, “Parliament is a place for legislation and capable men and women can both participate in the parliamentary elections.”
