Narges Mohammadi, vice president of the Defenders of Human Rights Center said a new court case has been launched against her in Iran
by the Evin public prosecutor’s office.
Mohammadi described her case and wrote how she was summoned “suddenly a few days ago” to the second branch of the public prosecutor’s office in Evin Prison. A soldier who hadn’t even written the text of the testimony was congratulated by the judge for his presence in the court, she added.
She has been prohibited from calling her children since 17 July when her children have left the country. Prison officials are also refusing to give her any pictures of her children. Mohammadi’s children Ali and Kiana have been forced to flee Iran since their mother has been jailed, and they are currently living with their father Taghi Rahmani outside of Iran.
Mohammadi is scheduled to appear in court again on 31 December to face charges such as attempting to revoke the death penalty, forming women’s centers and meeting with then EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.
