Nursing students of Iran’s Neishabour Medical Sciences University held a rally on 30 November.
Their demand is a change in the plans used to educate nurses in hospitals, saying such methods are against the well-being of patients. Protesting students signed a petition at the end of their rally.
Tabriz: Over 150 nursing students in Tabriz also held a gathering on 28 November.
Aligudarz: Nursing Society also protested the new teaching plan. The students wrote a letter on 30 November saying, “Considering the number of nursing students it appears that there is no current serious shortage of nurses across the country. In fact, the main problem lies in issuing licenses and the use of trained nurses. A large number of hardworking nurses have resorted to unrelated jobs to make ends meet, or are still unemployed.”
Tehran: Nursing students of Tehran’s Beheshti Medical Sciences University also held a rally on 1 December (see pictures). The protesters held a banner saying: “You are destroying the future employment of nursing students”.
