The large demonstration of freedom-loving Iranians took place in Munich on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Odeon Square, coinciding with the Munich Security Conference. The main slogan of the demonstrators was “No Shah no Mullah, overthrow the clerical dictatorship and establish a democratic republic in Iran.”
This demonstration was a manifestation of the iron will of the people of Iran to reclaim their national sovereignty and emphasized the connection between global security and the realization of freedom and justice in Iran. The timing of this gathering alongside the Munich Security Conference highlights an important truth: security without considering the voices of oppressed people of Iran is meaningless and becomes merely a diplomatic mirage.
Sania Kohansal was among the speakers at this event. Her speech was as follows:

Sania Kohansal: Democratic Change and Regional Stability Depend on Standing with the Iranian People and Their Resistance
I would like to begin my remarks with a report about the large demonstration on February 7 in Berlin. At this event, we witnessed the Coalition of Iranians in Exile, a coalition that brought together diverse political perspectives, organizations, and generations, all sending a unified message: we do not support the continuation of the current regime, nor do we seek a return to monarchy. Iran will not go back to the past, and it will not remain in its current state. The people of Iran and their organized resistance are demanding the establishment of a democratic republic.
The message of last Saturday’s Berlin demonstration was not merely a protest against the ruling regime; it was also a commemoration of the 1979 revolution and the overthrow of the monarchy. However, instead of establishing a democracy, a religious government came to power, but the values of that revolution have never been extinguished.
The organized resistance, led by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, offers a democratic alternative. Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan calls for the separation of religion and state, equality between women and men, and social freedoms, providing a clear roadmap for Iran’s future. This is precisely our vision for Iran’s future.
This resistance, through its democratic practices, does not seek foreign military intervention, and the policy of appeasement has also failed.
So, what does this freedom-seeking movement demand? It calls for the recognition of the Iranian people’s right to resist oppression and to stand against the regime’s repressive actions.
I am addressing these words to the participants of the Munich conference: democratic change is possible, and regional stability is achievable, provided the international community stands with the Iranian people and their resistance. This is the only path to a free Iran, liberated from monarchy or religious dictatorship.
Death to the dictator. Long live freedom. Thank you.
