A Young Life Cut Short by Brutal Crackdown
Hasti Narouii was born on October 8, 2015.
She was one of the many children killed during the Iran Protests. On September 30, 2022, during what is now known as “Bloody Friday” in Zahedan—a city in southeastern Iran—Hasti was tragically killed by the oppressive forces of the Iranian regime.
At only seven years old, she was full of life and dreams. Just a week later, she was supposed to begin her first year of elementary school, an exciting milestone for any child.
Hasti Narouii accompanied her grandmother to the Zahedan Grand Mosque on that day. Amid the chaos of protests, as people gathered in opposition to the regime, the security forces opened fire on the crowd. Hasti was struck on the head, and the tear gas in the air made it impossible for her to breathe. She died from the blow to her head and the inhalation of toxic gases.
