Farzaneh Tavakkoli, a resident of Arak, was killed on January 9, 2026, after being directly shot by the regime’s criminal security forces during popular protests in the city.
She was fatally shot in the head and died while holding her daughter’s hand. Security forces attempted to arrest her daughter at the scene but failed.
The regime coerced the family of Farzaneh Tavakkoli into signing a written commitment that her body would only be returned on the condition that she be buried quietly in a village near Arak.
She was 40 years old, a mother of two, and the sole breadwinner of her family.
