The clerical regime’s Judiciary has executed six women in less than one month
Today, May 18, 2024, the mullahs’ misogynistic regime hanged a 53-year-old woman, Parvin Moussavi, at the Central Prison of Urmia. She was executed alongside four male prisoners. Parvin Moussavi, who had been imprisoned for four years, was battling cancer and could not afford her medication.
Women incarcerated in the women’s ward of Urmia’s Central Prison protested when Parvin Moussavi was taken for execution. They clashed with the ruthless prison guards who entered the women’s ward to suppress them.
This morning, the clerical regime’s Judiciary also executed another woman in the Central Prison of Neishabur. She was Fatemeh Abdullahi, aged 27.
Earlier, on May 15, the regime executed another woman in the Central Prison of Mashhad, also known as Vakilabad.
In less than one month, the clerical regime has executed a total of six women since April 20.
Iran’s ruling religious fascism ranks at the top globally for the execution of women and children.
The Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran strongly condemns the hanging of these women. The NCRI Women’s Committee once again urges the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls and the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission to take urgent action to save the lives of female prisoners on the death row, and visit Iranian prisons where women are imprisoned.
