Hamideh Zeraii is deprived of contacting her family
Mahboubeh Bigdeli, a mother of two children, was arrested at the Prosecutor’s Office of Gachsaran in southwestern Iran.
Mahboubeh Bigdeli had been summoned to report to the 3rd Branch of the Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday, September 30, 2023, but she was arrested upon arrival. She is accused of disseminating “propaganda against the state.”
Mahboubeh Bigdeli was also arrested last year during the nationwide uprising. She was released in February 2023 after the regime granted general amnesty to some 80,000 prisoners on the anniversary of the 1979 Revolution.
In other news, it was reported that political prisoner Hamideh Zeraii was banned from contacting her family starting September 16, 2023. She cannot call or visit them because she sent an audio recording out of prison.
She was supposed to have a court hearing on Saturday, September 30, but she refused to attend in protest of her deprivation, and the hearing was canceled.
On Monday, May 29, 2023, Hamideh Zeraii, one of the detainees of the nationwide protests in 2022, was arrested by security forces at her residence.
Hamideh Zarai, 37 and from Rasht, was a master’s student in the Research Sciences branch at Tehran Azad University. On November 3, 2023, security forces arrested her during the fortieth-day commemoration of Hadis Najafi in Karaj. However, on February 7, 2023, following the regime’s amnesty show, she was released from the Kachouii Prison of Karaj.
