Women in Iran face prohibitions that women face nowhere else in the world. The Farsi website of Deutsche Welle Radio (www.dw.com) listed 20 of these prohibitions as the following:
Riding bicycles is forbidden for women.
Taking selfie pictures with football players is forbidden.
Working in coffee shops is forbidden for women.
Marrying non-Iranians or non-Muslims is forbidden for Iranian women.
Tucking pants into boots is forbidden for Iranian women.
Wearing hats instead of scarves is forbidden for Iranian women.
Swimming with swim suits is forbidden for Iranian women.
Going on stage for artistic performance is forbidden for Iranian women.
Entering sports stadiums (to watch men play games) is forbidden for Iranian women.
Going to the men’s section on a bus or in metro is forbidden for Iranian women.
Wearing leggings is forbidden for Iranian women.
Having one’s hair stick out from underneath the shawl is forbidden.
Camping with male students is forbidden for girl students.
Every form of surgery that prevents pregnancy is forbidden for Iranian women.
Entering coffee shops and smoking hookahs are forbidden for Iranian women.
Asking and filing for divorce is forbidden for Iranian women.
Getting a passport and travelling abroad without the consent of one’s husband is forbidden for Iranian women.
Wearing manteaux with foreign language writings on the back is forbidden for Iranian women.
Competing in running tournaments while wearing internationally standard suits.
Studying in a large number of college fields is forbidden for Iranian women.
