According to the statistics released by the general director of the National Registration Organization,
the number of marriages in the first nine months of the Iranian year (March – December 2015) has dropped 3.4 per cent compared to the same period last year while the number of divorces has increased 4.2 per cent in the same period. That means one out of every three marriages ends up in divorce.

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
