AIDS is more widespread among Iranian women than among men.
The state-run IRNA news agency cited Mostafa Saberi, an expert in the fight against social ills saying, “These days the number of AIDS patients among women has increased and this is a serious alarm bell.”
“According to the country’s registered statistics, around 30,000 people are diagnosed with AIDS. However, estimates show that the current numbers have reached three times that amount,” he added. (State-run asriran.com – December 8, 2015)
