Nazli Afshar Echoes the Voice of Youth for a Free Iran

Nazli Afshar addressing the Free Iran World Summit

Nazli Afshar Echoes the Voice Youth for a Free and Democratic Iran

September 13, 2025
in Solidarity

On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Free Iran World Summit 2025 was held in the city of Rome, Italy. This conference, titled “Iran; Change and a Democratic Republic with the People and the Iranian Resistance,” featured the presence and speeches of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and prominent figures from several European countries and the United States. Among the voices and faces present, Nazli Afshar and Adrien Mohseni—two young people who have never seen their homeland up close, yet whose hearts beat for Iran’s freedom—delivered passionate speeches.

Meeting the Inspirational Light of Hope

Mrs. Rajavi, I am very happy to see you in person for the first time today and to welcome you.
Mrs. Rajavi, ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests; my name is Nazli, an Iranian who grew up in Italy. The words I speak today are words that cannot be spoken in Iran. Today, millions of Iranians—especially the youth—are seeking freedom; freedom, their rights, water, bread, and a life that the ruling regime has taken from them to destroy the dignity and hope of the people.

Beacons in the Darkness That Will Never Be Forgotten

The images you see here today show only a small portion of Iranian youth who were killed by the regime during the uprisings, many of them were very young. This image shows one of the young people who lost their life at the hands of the regime during the 1988 massacre.
These young people showed incredible bravery, despite arrests and the threat of execution, they stood firm and fought for our future. That is why today, the people of Iran and the Baloch shout together: “No to Shah, No to Mullah – long live freedom.”

The Regime’s Fear of Youth Power; They Are Not Mere Spectators

The regime knows very well that young people can bring an end to its rule and fears the organized resistance of the Mojahedin. We must play our role in this struggle for freedom. Recently, two supporters of the Mojahedin, Mehdi Hassani and Behrooz Ehsani, were executed. In today’s Iran, the greatest crime is defending freedom and fighting for liberation.

Iranian youth refuse to remain silent in the face of oppression. It is our historical and moral duty to continue this struggle. We are not mere spectators, we are part of this struggle, members of this path of freedom.

We Will Build a New and Free Day for Iran

And not only us, but the voices of many freedom fighters stand alongside the youth. We are not alone; we will continue this struggle with courage, and Iran will witness a new and free day—a day that Mrs. Maryam Rajavi represents.

A Generation’s Faith in Freedom; Adrien Mohseni’s Speech at the Free Iran World Summit

Dear Mrs. Rajavi, esteemed guests, it is a great honor to speak with you here today, not only as an Iranian born in Switzerland, but as someone who deeply believes in the future of a free Iran.

First, I would like to welcome the distinguished guests who have joined us today. Your presence alongside the people of Iran carries great significance. I thank you for supporting Mrs. Rajavi’s 10-Point Plan.

Paying Tribute to the Fallen Heroes of Freedom

Second, I would like to pay heartfelt tribute to two Mojahedin, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani, who were brutally killed by the regime’s ruthless henchmen. They sacrificed their lives for freedom due to their membership in the Mojahedin Organization and their fight for liberation. The regime sought to silence them and intimidate the people, yet these two heroes refuse to bow to tyranny and chose to give their lives for freedom.

The Resistance Unit, Bearers of Hope and Courage

I want to speak about those who inspire the people of Iran most: the Resistance Units, the young men and women who fight for freedom in Iran. They are not ordinary activists. In a country where even the smallest protest can lead to torture or death, the determination and bravery of these young people send a message of hope to the Iranian nation.

They go out at night in secret to put up banners, write slogans, and show the people that they fear no dictatorship and demand freedom. In a country ruled by Khamenei, burning his image or writing slogans in favor of Mrs. Rajavi are brave and powerful acts that break the boundaries of fear.

The importance of the Resistance Units lies in their courage and message, a message that says change is not only necessary but possible. We reject both appeasement and war, but we believe in the overthrow of this regime by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.

The Resistance Units show that there is a real option to achieve freedom, and it is our duty to spread their message to the world and support their right to overthrow the dictatorship.

From Philosophy to Action; Our Commitment to Overthrow Tyranny and Defend Freedom

The English philosopher John Locke wrote in 1689 that whenever legislators attempt to destroy or limit the rights of the people, they in effect declare a state of war against them, and the people have the right to reclaim their freedom.

In conclusion, I want to address Brother Massoud Rajavi: we are proud of the Resistance Units and will continue this struggle. Present, present, present!
