Leila Gholikhani Ganjeh (Shohreh) remains in an uncertain legal situation after 35 days of detention in the women’s ward of Evin Prison.
Leila Gholikhani was arrested on February 25, 2025, by agents of the Intelligence Ministry and was initially held in solitary confinement in the notorious Ward 209 of Evin Prison for eight days. On March 5, 2025, she was transferred to the women’s ward of the prison.
Authorities have set a bail of three billion tomans (approximately $30,000), which she has been unable to secure, leaving her in extended detention.
Leila Gholikhani Ganjeh faces charges including “propaganda against the state” and “membership in opposition groups.” She has previously been arrested and convicted due to her activism.
More than a month after her arrest, no official details have been released regarding a trial or any legal proceedings, leaving her future uncertain.
