Iran protests against fuel price hike continued in various cities on Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24, 2019, including in Tehran (Tehranpars district), Malard and Fardis in Karaj, southwest of Tehran, Urmia, Isfahan, Sirjan, Shiraz and the areas surrounding the Port of Mahshahr. The number of cities involved in the uprisings has reached 171.
The death toll is at least 300, and the names of 99 of them have been obtained and verified by the Iranian Resistance. Two more women have been reported killed during the recent Iran protests.
One of the women killed was Ameneh Shahbazifard. She was shot dead on Sunday, November 17, 2019, but her body has been just recently handed over to her family who were told to bury her in the dark of the night. Ameneh Shahbazifard, 34, is mother of two boys and a 4-year-old girl. She was trying to help someone wounded, but was shot in the head by security forces.
According to Kurdish sources, an unidentified female student was slain in Sanandaj, capital of Kurdistan Province. A student who had witnessed the scene, said a female student from Saqqez was hit by a tear gas canister in the abdomen on Sunday night, November 17, 2019, and eventually died.
Fresh reports from Iran indicate that the wave of arrests is continuing throughout the country and the number of those detained has surpassed 10,000.
The Iranian regime has made a detention center out of many elementary schools which is violation of international conventions. A video clip posted on the internet shows how the Quds elementary school for girls was turned into a detention center by security forces. Young men, blindfolded and handcuffed were first taken to this place to be transferred to prison.
