Ali Mohammad Adabi, General Director of the National Nursing Organization, announced that ten nurses had died last year due to hard work.
The statement was made in the Cultural Festival of Nurses in Ahwaz. Adabi refused to give the names of the nurses.
Nurses are one of the most disenchanted sectors of Iranian society. They staged a protest demonstration most recently on February 12, 2017, in Tehran in front of Khomeini Hospital. They demanded payment of eight months of non-paid commission and forced overtime work.
