Followers of prisoner of conscience Mohammad Ali Taheri gathered outside Evin Prison to defend their leader.
Two persons identified as Nahid Assadi and Shahdad Salehpoor were forcibly pulled out of their car by security forces, beaten up and arrested as they intended to leave the place.
Meanwhile, at least 60 women and dozens of men were arrested while trying to cross the line of security forces. The names of some of the arrested women are: Mahnaz Farhad, Marjan Mir Habib, Safoora Shirazi, Navideh Almasi, Farnaz Alizadeh, Maryam Allah Moradi, Afsoon Eslami, Nayereh Jafari, Kiana Noushirvani, Mina Soleimani, Masoumeh Family, Mina Sharifi, Morvarid Fartoomi, Hoda Saee, Nahid Assadi, Behnaz Pegahifar and Nazanin Malekzadeh.
Government agents also prevented Mr. Taheri’s wife from leaving home.
February 7, was the last day of Mr. Taheri’s jail sentence and his followers expected his release.
