South Khorasan Province’s police deputy in social affairs said Firouzeh amphitheater was closed because the audience did not abide by Islamic rules.
“The Clothing Union made a request from Birjand clothing store owners to the police to hold an exhibition for store owners of other cities,” Mohammad Sarfarazi said.
“The showman had promised to not play songs during the program. However, a musical was played at the end of the program that created an atmosphere for guests to clap during the program. This upset some of the participants in the exhibition. When the police came to control the program they immediately issued the necessary warnings to the program director and stopped the entire show.
“The amphitheater director and program organizer were summoned by the police and after hearing their remarks they were told the amphitheater will be closed for 48 hours, and two individuals were introduced to judiciary officials afterwards,” he added.
