In evaluating the report of the presidential Directorate on Women and Family Affairs, a sociologist said, “Of the 90 items in the report on the Conduct of the Directorate on Women’s Affairs, virtually 41 items have not been realized which comprise 46 per cent of all the programs.”
“Sixty per cent of the 46 per cent in question is related to the programs planned for 2015 and there are only six months left for their realization. Forty per cent is related to the 2014 which has not been realized at all,” said Tahmineh Shaverdi from University Jihad. “It does not seem that these programs could be realized in the remaining six months because there are no special infrastructures for their implementation.”
“What has remained of the plans of the 11th government are its most important parts, namely support for women’s occupation and education, legal support, adding to women’s skills and capabilities, providing for the rights of victims of domestic violence, etc.,” Shaverdi said. She also noted that the directorate’s cooperation with various agencies has not proved to be responding to women’s most important needs.
