Mandatory clothing and crackdown on women has reached a point that members of Iran’s so-called parliament are officially defending it against young girls. Recently, Abolhassan Mahdavi, a representative from Isfahan said, “I believe education officials must make chadors mandatory for elementary school girls because school children learn from their early days in the society.”
“Clothing for women inside their homes is different from those used outside! Outside of their homes their clothing violates the rights of others and they must fully abide by such regulations, and men must impose these regulations whereas complete cover for women in the society is made possible through a full black chador in order to respect other people’s rights!” he added.
