The No to Executions Tuesdays Campaign issued its Week 145 statement on November 3, 2026, highlighting the growing support and solidarity it has received from prominent international figures and institutions.
The statement pointed to the increasing global support for the campaign. Among the latest supporters is Anna Lorna Delgadillo, a member of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, who joined the campaign this week by going on hunger strike.
Alexis Anagnostakis, Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the European Criminal Bar Association, as well as representatives of the Human Rights Office of Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also joined the campaign and condemned the rising number of executions in Iran.
Earlier, David R. Boyd, former UN Special Rapporteur, and Andrea Bollanos Vargas, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders, went on hunger strike in solidarity with political prisoners in Iran.
In its 145th weekly statement, the No to Execution Tuesdays campaign condemned the Iranian judiciary’s persistent issuance of death sentences against political prisoners. The campaign highlighted a sharp escalation in capital punishment, reporting that at least 22 individuals were executed over a 48-hour period on October 26 and 27.
The No to Executions Tuesdays Campaign has become the longest-running and most widespread protest movement inside Iran’s prisons. In its 145th week, prisoners in 66 prisons across the country participated in the hunger strike campaign.
Women political prisoners have remained at the forefront of this movement. For nearly three years, they have consistently joined the weekly “No to Executions Tuesdays” hunger strikes. These women are imprisoned in the women’s wards of Evin Prison, Qarchak Prison, Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz, Adelabad Prison in Shiraz, Zahedan Prison, Yazd Prison, Lakan Prison in Rasht, and Bandar Abbas Prison.
