Parisa Kamali, a political prisoner currently held in Yazd Prison, has sent a message from behind bars marking the fortieth day of remembrance for those killed in the January 2026 uprising in Iran.
In her statement, released despite ongoing restrictions on her communication, Parisa Kamali reaffirmed her commitment to continued resistance and the organized struggle for freedom.
Kamali is serving a prison sentence in Yazd and, according to reports, faces multiple limitations while incarcerated.
In her statement, Kamali honored those killed during the protests and stressed the determination of demonstrators to carry their cause forward:
“We will never allow this flag to fall until the day our homeland, Iran, is free. We believe that this blood-stained path will ultimately lead to victory.”
Emphasizing both individual and collective responsibility for change, she added:
“We are exactly the ones we have been waiting for. We are the change we seek.”

Salutations to the martyrs of the path to freedom and to their families.
For years we have mourned the absence of justice and liberty. Yet for our sisters and brothers, our daughters and sons, who gave their lives like butterflies in this cause, we do not wail or lament. Instead, we take pride in them, the children of Cyrus and the standard-bearers of justice and freedom.
We will never allow this flag to fall until the day our homeland, Iran, is free.
We have faith that this blood-soaked path will end in victory, and that the bloodshed will cleanse our nation of the malign presence of these criminals.
With hope, we stand firm and honor the names and memories of the stars in the sky of Iran’s freedom during these darkest moments of oppression.

Who is Parisa Kamali?
Parisa Kamali Ardakani was arrested on April 29, 2024, in Isfahan and initially taken to Dowlatabad Prison. She is facing three separate cases brought against her in Isfahan and Ardakan, all involving various security-related accusations.
In 2025, Parisa Kamali Ardakani was transferred from Dowlatabad Prison in Isfahan to Yazd Prison.
After accepting the court’s ruling (“taslim be ra’y”), her combined sentence was reduced to three and a half years.
Parisa Kamali Ardakani was born in 1986 in Abadan, is married and a geography student.
