Mansoureh Heydari was a nurse at the Social Security Hospital in Bushehr.
On January 8, 2026, she joined her husband, Behrouz Mansouri, along with a large number of outraged citizens, in street protests against the systematic violation of their most basic human rights, including the right to livelihood, as well as individual and social freedoms.
Mansoureh Heydari was the mother of two children, aged seven and ten. Before heading out to protest, she and her husband entrusted their children to relatives and left home to join the demonstrations.
As protesters marched in orderly lines chanting slogans, government security forces opened fire on the crowd from inside a mosque and deployed tear gas. Several women and men, including this young couple, were killed in the very first moments of the crackdown by direct fire from live ammunition.
