Zohreh Shafaei: We neither forgive nor forget

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, a conference was convened to address the atrocity crimes against humanity, specifically the massacre of political prisoners and the genocide of members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in 1988, as well as the mass executions that took place in 1981 and 1982 in Iran. The discussions underscored the pressing need for accountability and the imperative to end the impunity of those who orchestrated and carried out these crimes, under international laws and treaties.

Ms. Zohreh Shafaei addressed this conference, representing the families and survivors of the victims of the genocide in 1981, 1982, and 1988.

NCRI Women Committee

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
