Unemployment and non-participation in the social environment is increasing each year for women in Iran. In this regard, the director of a women’s employment association linked to the Iranian regime has reported shocking numbers.
“According to existing numbers, women’s unemployment has increased 60% amongst from 2005 to 2008,” the director said.
“More than 60% of all students are women. The worst unemployment rates are amongst women between the ages of 20 and 24, unemployment amongst college graduates is 18.9%,” the official continued.
Meanwhile, Shahindokht Molavardi, Hassan Rouhani’s Vice-President in women and family affairs declared 78% of all Iranian women are economically inactive. Employment amongst women is only at 12.6%, she added.
