Mullah Ahmad Alam al-Hoda, imam of Friday prayers in Mashhad criticized those who consider people’s economic problems as more important than hijab.
“What burns out the roots of Islam is not hunger but improper veiling. There is nothing more important than hijab,” he said.
“Hijab is not part of the private conditions of individuals; in fact it is a social trend that must have management. Those with improper veiling, are considered an element to overthrow and destroy the establishment,” he added.
