Female prisoners in Orumieh prison, joined political prisoners in other cities on their 12th day of hunger strike. The main demand of political prisoners is to have a separate ward for political prisoners and stop inhumane measures carried out against them.
Prison officials have cut off telephone lines to Orumieh prison since noon of November29, 2014 to prevent information from leaking out about the hunger strike and have stationed anti-riot units outside the prison.
The strike has reached a new phase with all Kurdish political prisoners and political prisoners in Rajaie Shahr Prison of Karaj and now the women’s ward in Orumieh, Gohardasht, Zahedan, Sanandaj and other prisons in Iran’s southern regions joining their protest.
