Sarina Jahani, 20, is spending her two-year sentence in the women’s ward of Evin Prison.
Sarina Jahani was arrested on September 16, 2023, on the anniversary of the 2022 nationwide uprising in Iran sparked by the death of Zhina Mahsa Amini in the custody of the Morality Police.
Security forces in Shahriar, one of the counties of Tehran Province, arrested Sarina and took her to Qarchak Prison.
Some 600 women were arrested in Tehran on the anniversary of Iran protests. Sarina was among those arrested in Shahriar. She was subsequently transferred to Evin Prison, and temporarily released on bail on November 4, 2023.
The Revolutionary Court of Shahriar sentenced her to two years imprisonment on charges of “assembly and collusion to act against national security.”
On February 6, 2024, she reported to the Office of the Implementation of Verdicts, where she was arrested and transferred to Evin Prison to serve her time in prison.
