Azar Mirzapour Zahabi lost her life when she was shot in the heart on November 16, 2019, in the Golshahr district of Karaj.
Azar Mirzapour Zahabi was 48 with three daughters and a son. She worked as a nurse.
Her sister said in an interview that Azar was returning home at 5 p.m. after two consecutive work shifts. She called her son on the way and said she would be home in two minutes. But there was no sign of her.
Worried about their mother, the children called their aunt and told her about the situation. The search to find Azar began, and finally they reached the Kowthar Hospital.
The family described Azar’s visual traits to the hospital staff, who referred them to the coroner’s office, something that proved Azar had been killed.
Azar’s sister said the death certificate stated “shot in the heart” as the cause of her death.
The regime’s officials have acknowledged that at least 400 women were among 1,500 killed by security forces during the November 2019 Iran protests.
