At 10:30 a.m. on November 18, 2019, the Iranian regime’s security forces opened a barrage of fire on the protesters who had taken refuge in the wetland. This blind massacre was carried out on the order of the governor of Mahshahr and carried out by the special units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. They used tanks, armored personnel carriers, heavy and semi-heavy machine guns and even helicopter against the protesters.
They showed no mercy even for the people who had stayed home and not joined the protests.
