The clerical regime’s Health Minister used the image of a Brazilian nurse to thank the efforts of Iranian nurses who are called Iran’s angels by the Iranian public. (The state-run Mizan news agency – April 14, 2020)
The hollow gesture aroused a wave of outrage among the medical community and all the people of Iran.
A nurse posted the image of her own blistered face, and wrote, “Give this image to the Health Minister, and tell him he does not need to find the photos of Brazilians to thank the efforts of the medical staff!”
The message was posted by Ms. Lirabi, one of Iran’s angels who works in Jesus, son of Mary Hospital in the city of Isfahan, in central Iran, where she is caring for COVID-19 patients.
Every day, a greater number of the medical staff contract the deadly virus in Iran’s hospitals.
In a tragic example, Dr. Maedeh Najafi, an infectious disease doctor, who works at Beheshti Hospital in Kashan, diagnosed herself as being infected by the virus and signed her own papers to be hospitalized.
With the rising number of covid-19 cases, Iran’s angels undergo further pressure
Deputy Health Minister Alireza Raissi declared, “That 800,000 people have been infected and the number of those who have died is several times the number we have announced are definitely accurate.”
Easing of restrictions and resumption of economic activities in Iran will further add to the number of cases, bringing ever greater pressure on nurses who work several shifts in a row and most of them sleep on the floor at nights. Some nurses have not seen their children for more than three months.
Alireza Zali, head of Tehran’s Coronavirus Combat Taskforce, declared, “During the past 24 hours, 399 new patients have been hospitalized for Coronavirus infection in Tehran.” (The state-run Vatan Emrouz daily – April 16, 2020)
According to the Intelligence Ministry’s directive, the internal portal for the National Civil Registration has been shut down to prevent the death toll from leaking.
Tehran Civil Registration, which publishes a monthly table and causes of deaths in the province, did not publish this table for March 2020. The table was published on a monthly basis in the first 11 months of the last Iranian calendar year (ending on March 20, 2020). According to the regime’s official news agency, since “three days ago, the universities of medical sciences refuse to provide statistics of those dead or infected as a result of the Coronavirus in every province.”
The Iranian Resistance announced that as of Friday evening, April 17, 2020, the shocking death toll of coronavirus victims exceeded 30,700 in 294 cities across Iran.
