Member of European Parliament Anthea McIntyre, a long-time supporter of the Iranian Resistance and women, declared support for the struggle of Iranian women in a tweet. She tweeted on December 31, 2017:
I salute the brave people of Iran who are demonstrating for freedom and democracy. The EU must condemn the regime’s brutal crackdown and support calls by opposition leader Maryam Rajavi for a democratic change and a free Iran.
Anthea McIntyre is Vice-Chair of the British Conservative Party.
On the same day, Els Van Hoof, member of Belgian Parliament and Chair of the Women’s Section of the Christian Democratic Party CD&V, also declared support for Iranian people and women’s leading role. She wrote in her tweet:
My stong support for brave people in Iran who are risking their lives in streets these days to free their country. Women play a major leading role. Belgium and EU must support a free Iran, Iran protests, Maryam Rajavi and the NCRI.
