In a speech on March 19, Khamenei once again stressed that the main duty of women is bearing children. He said the equality movement is a source of corruption.
Ali Khamenei, the mullahs’ supreme leader and a ruthless dictator, said, “The meaning of homemaking is raising human beings. It means production of the most exalted and the highest product in the whole existence; that is the human being.”
Khamenei added, “Under the pretext of defending women’s rights, some people say things that are not tantamount to respect for women, but undermine her.” He said defending women’s rights is “a Zionist conspiracy.”
Khamenei explicitly said that men and women “have different duties in running the family.”
He pointed out, “Those who want to defend women’s rights play the trumpet from the wrong end. They do not understand what to say and what to defend. They say why women aren’t managers. What is so honorable about being a manager that people seek to understand why all the managers are men? … Those who had brought up and pursued the issue of gender equality, now regret it because they face so much misery and corruption because of this.”
