Opposition sources in Damascus reported that intelligence and security forces of Assad regime have launched an extensive campaign since Thursday, January 26, 2017, to arrest the residents. Most of those arrested are women and girl students. The reason for these arrests is not known.
A student at the University of Damascus said, “Girl students are carefully inspected when entering the university. The Assad regime has set up several check points at the university’s entrance to check the names of girl students and their places of residence.”
