Prisoners in the women’s ward of the Evin Prison staged a sit-in on Sunday, December 4, 2016, and forced prison officials to allow political prisoner Golrokh Iraee visit her husband, Arash Sadeghi, who is also detained in Evin and is presently on hunger strike.
Arash Sadeghi has been on hunger strike for 42 days in protest to the illegal arrest and detention of his wife. He has lost 17 kilograms and is not able to speak, suffers from kidney problems, heart palpitation and asthma.

We work extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintain a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women’s rights organizations and NGO’s and the Iranian diaspora.
The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Council meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime’s misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.
