“Afsaneh (Bayazidi) was arrested 85 days ago but the intelligence agents did not allow me to visit my daughter even once to be sure that she is alive,” so explained Ms.
Ameneh Darvishi about her daughter’s condition.
Afsaneh Bayazidi is a Kurdish student activist who was arrested by the Intelligence Ministry forces on April 24, 2016, and is currently being held in the Intelligence Department’s detention center, in poor health and in an undetermined state.
Ms. Darivishi further explained: “I looked for her everywhere from Boukan to Mahabad and Orumiyeh. I even went to Tehran but nobody claimed responsibility for my daughter’s arrest. Ultimately, they called me a month ago and said she was detained by Orumiyeh’s Department of Intelligence.”
She added, “Afsaneh was summoned every year since 2013, until they finally arrested her. This is the third time they illegally arrested my daughter. She has been in solitary confinement. They beat her up, tortured and abused my daughter. Last year, she went on hunger strike for 26 days in Mahabad’s Intelligence Department’s detention center. The Court of Mahabad sentenced her to two years in prison.”
