Ms. Sarvnaz Chitsaz, chairwoman of the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, lauded Air France’s flight attendants’ protest against compulsory veiling upon landing in Iran.
She said: “The mullahs’ medieval regime now seeks to expand its misogynist and oppressive laws to non-Iranian women after nearly four decades of a ubiquitous crackdown on all political, social and private spheres of women’s lives in Iran.”
Ms. Chitsaz added: “What the Iranian regime declares and implements in Iran as binding Islamic laws, is neither Islamic nor has ever been approved by Iranian women. Throughout the past four decades, Iranian women have expressed their outrage and protest against the mullahs’ compulsory veiling by various means.”
The chairwoman of the NCRI Women’s Committee reiterated that economic trade and relations shall never justify trampling of women’s most rudimentary rights, including the right to freely choose one’s clothing.
