Head of Iran’s Prison Organization, Asghar Jahangir, said: Sixty-five per cent of female prisoners do not have previous criminal records, but no institution has been designated as being in charge of caring for these women’s children.
Jahangir also confessed that the average age of prisoners in Iran is falling, a problem that needs to be examined as a serious social ill.
